Project Description

LONDON, THE LYCEUM THEATRE – DECEMBER 22 & 23, 1969

The Christmas Concerts

This is Christmas 1969 …
The Rolling Stones played their last concert of the 60’s in London, off course, where it all started for the band in the early stages of their career. It follows the Altamont Speedway disaster. By the end of the year 1969, the Stones wanted to introduce their new album to the home crowd, “Let it bleed”.

They booked four gigs in London, in two separate venues, in order to redeem themselves in the eyes of their British fans and the British Media. It would also be an opportunity to get back to the basics and introduce the entire “Let it bleed” album live to a small audience (1500) before entering the “arena” rock era of the seventies.

LONDON CALLING 69
First Stones concert after Altamont and the last of the Sixties featuring Mick Taylor on guitar. “Let it bleed” LP in its entirety for the first time ever.
